The ultimate guide to minimize jet lag

We absolutely love to travel, but bouncing between different time zones can be tough on your body. Here are a few of our go to tips and tricks to minimize jet lag and ensure you have the best time on your travels and feel rested and relaxed when you get back: 

Before the Flight: 

  • Make minor adjustments to your sleep schedule to align yourself with your new time zone a few days in advance
  • Avoid or limit alcohol and caffeine the day you travel 
  • Always pack a sleep mask and ear plugs in your carry-on, especially if you're on a red eye!

During the Flight: 

  • Set your watch / phone to the new time zone as soon as you get on the flight
  • Drink SO much water, more than you normally would, and then a little more after that 
  • Make sure you're dressed in something loose and comfortable (unsurprisingly, we often just opt for pajamas) 

After the Flight: 

  • Get as much natural sunlight as you can when you arrive, and if you arrive at night avoid any artificial light 
  • Try to immediately have meals according to your new time zone 
  • Prioritize some light exercise the day you arrive, even just walking and stretching
